From The Desk Of The Regular Guy...
Do you know what time it is? It's EAGLE TIME! Let's play the #3 in the 3rd Race. This will be the 'Swan Song" for the 14-year-old Eagle Time, who can become the only 14-year-old in history to win 2 races in a season at River Downs. He looks like he is sitting on a win. Trainer Rick Jordan said this will be his stallion's last start after 80 trips around the track. It won't be his last appearance, though - we are throwing a retirement party for him on Labor Day with his favorite treat...Carrot Cake! Be here.
The Goof On The Roof Says....
We sure will be pulling for the Regular Guy's pick today...we love that gritty ol' guy! We'll look to a very competitive 4th race for a play. The great thing about this race is that you really can't throw anybody out. That said, we think #3 Luminaire will be double tough. She's beaten many of her chief rivals in the past and done so with relative ease. We like the brief freshening and think Mr. Ouzts will be able to will her home inside the 3/16ths. She may not pay very much, but there's still value to the rae, as we think ANYBODY can fill in those exotics spots. Key her on top and hope for a bomb underneath!
