In a very wide open turf stake race for fillies and mares, let’s take a shot with #6 STRATHNAVER. Strathnaver is making her third start in North America where she is a perfect 2 for 2. Her first win in the U.S. was at Gulfstream Park where she won an Optional Claimer by ¾ of a length at the 1 mile and 3/16th distance. Her second win came at Keeneland where she won the Grade 3 Bewitch by a length going the marathon distance of 1 mile and ½. The shorter distance of 1 mile and 3/8th should not be a factor as her running style says she can handle any distance. Jockey Joel Rosario, who rode her in her two North America starts, stays aboard for trainer Graham Motion, who does wonders with these types of turf horses that are brought from overseas.
