He's got one brown eye and one blue eye, but 6-year-old Snickerdoodle had his eye on the prize in the 15th Annual Wiener Dog Summer Nationals sponsored by Pet-Wow at River Downs on Saturday. Before a crowd of several thousand dog lovers, the Brown Dapple Wiener sped along the rail to finish on top in a four-dog photo finish.
Snickerdoodle is no stranger to competition at River Downs. He has now raced in five Wiener Nationals and made the finals three times in the past. He is owned by Ansley Layman a freshman at Lakota West High School. Officials from the Stray Animal Adoption Program (S.A.A.P.) did an excellent job at bringing together local rescue organizations that were represented during the afternoon at the track. It was a howlin' good time had by all!
